Dog Bite Prevention Workshop for Kids
Children and dogs share our homes, neighborhoods, and parks — and education is one of the most important tools we have to keep kids safe. Learning how to read dog behavior and interact appropriately can help prevent bites before they ever happen.
This special Dog Bite Prevention Workshop for Kids is designed to give children practical, age-appropriate skills that help them feel confident and protected around dogs.
The workshop will be led by John Peaveler, an internationally recognized animal services professional visiting Guam to train our Animal Control Officers, shelter staff, and community partners. As part of that effort, John is sharing his knowledge directly with kids — because safety education should start early.
Kids will learn:
- How to safely approach and interact with dogs
- How to recognize warning signs and dog body language
- What to do if they feel unsure or unsafe around a dog
